Borescopes, Videoscopes and Fiberscopes are used by NDT engineers to visually inspect remote and difficult to access areas. Typical applications include inspecting castings, turbines, machinery, small tubing, pipe lines and other impossible to reach areas.

The rocket that the borescope rental was used to inspect was an advanced plasma rocket.

The Burrowing Owl, a California Species of Special Concern isn’t your average owl: it doesn’t live in trees, and it’s not nocturnal. It makes its nest underground — usually in abandoned rodent burrows — and is active both day and night. But human population explosion has reduced the charismatic western burrowing owl’s breeding populations by more than 60 percent, presumably in response to loss of habitat to urban development, ground squirrel control efforts, and intensive agriculture practices.

In California a pipe line is proposed to be constructed and would go through an area that is inhabited by the California burrowing owl. In order for the pipe line project to be built the owls that inhabit the area will need to be relocated. The owls can only be relocated if it is proven that they are not currently nesting with eggs waiting to hatch.

In order to determine the nesting situation of the owls it was determined that a borescope could be inserted into the nests and visually view the condition of the nest. If no eggs were detected using the borescope then the owls could be recollected and the pipe line project could continue. Advanced Inspection Technologies was asked to provide borescope rental equipment to inspect the nests. The borescope rental was a cost effective way to inspect the nests with the most advanced remote visual inspection equipment available.

 industrial steam turbines. A videoscope is used to access the interior of a steam turbine to inspect the internal condition without teardown. A videoscope allows engineers to check for pitting, cracking, corrosion, erosion, weld and other defects, thus minimizing downtime and optimizing planned maintenance. Both fossil and nuclear power plants have steam turbines for elctrical power generation. Typically AIT has provided customers with 8mm diameter videoscopes to provide the highest quality image for the best results. AIT offers industrial videoscope rentals throughout North America for the inspection of steam turbines.

AIT recently rented a pipe inspection camera to inspect boiler tubes at an industial plant. The customer need to inspect boiler tube for corrosion, cracking, pitting, scale and other defects. The boiler tube camera or pipe inspection camera was able to record the inspection for analysis of the condition of each tube. AIT's was able to overnight the boiler tube camera and provided telephone support for the engineers to conduct the inspetion. Pipe amera rentals are proved by AIT throughout North America.

Advanced Inspection Technologies offers small diameter flexible fiberscope rentals for a variety of industrial applications. Pipe cameras rentals seemed to be in need as 2010 started off with a bang for Advanced Inspection Technologies. Pipe camera rentals in Indiana and Nevada were requested by industrial customers conducting inspections to return their plants back to operation. A food processing plant in Indiana needed to inspect floor drains for contamination. A large pharmacuetical manufacturer based in Indiana also requested a pipe camera to inspect processing piping. In Nevada, a power generation plant requested assistance from AIT to inspect electrical conduit. AIT was able to next day the equipment to all customers and make their plant turn arounds that much quicker.
